DESPACE as co-host of the workshop at GREENEXT Expo
In late August, DESPACE proudly co-hosted a workshop on the topic of circularity during the GREENEXT Expo. Through the Circular Reimagine Workshop, participants engaged in a condensed circular design process to develop innovative new circular solutions.
An Opportunity to Discuss Circularity
The Circular Reimagine Workshop, organized by the Benelux Chamber of Commerce and co-organized by DESPACE, INBO, and (better)labs, was part of the official program for the ESG-Sustainable Innovation-themed exhibition, GREENEXT Expo, held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center on August 26 and 27. In honor of the 20th anniversary of the launch of the ESG principles by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the GREENEXT Expo provided a platform for in-depth communication and collaboration among cross-industry business leaders, sustainable innovators, and general participants. The United Nations Global Compact is the world’s largest international organization promoting corporate sustainable development, with more than 24,000 companies and other stakeholders from nearly 170 countries.
Reimagining Products and Production
During the Circular Reimagine Workshop, participants engaged in a condensed circular design process to develop innovative new circular solutions for existing challenges. This workshop combined circular product, business, and ecosystem strategies to brainstorm new circular product and business concepts in an innovation sprint. Workshop hosts and circularity experts Tim Binnion and Lareina Liu provided a comprehensive introduction to the topic of circularity, inviting over 80 participants to rethink production processes and promote the extension of product lifespans.
The Sharing Economy
As a platform in the sharing economy, DESPACE actively promotes a more circular approach. The sharing economy inherently boosts efficiency in resource use, and DESPACE is committed to extending product lifecycles by focusing on quality. Our modular products allow for easy part exchanges and repairs, enhancing longevity. We aim to “close the loop” by reusing or recycling our products at the end of their lifecycle.
